Hey guys! So, this past Monday for Easter, I went to none other than Centralia, PA!
Which, if you didn't know, was the inspiration for the Silent Hill franchise. Its a veritable ghost town, and it used to be a HUGE town, well, at least booming. There was once over 3000 residents in this small town, its right on a highway, and now there's only seven residents. It has a creepy atmosphere, and its completely desolate and... empty. The last unused building was torn down in 1999, I think, and we found old plumbing, garbage, and even the foundation for the mine owner's old money mansion. (Seriously this thing was as big as my school.) There was even a tree with teddy bears hanging by nooses in it. Let me just say, it appealed to my inner psychopath. Then... there was the Graffiti Highway.
Wow.
Miles and miles of people from everywhere spray painted messages, we even saw some Arabic. There was a bunch of tags from people from before I was able to walk and even a few Prom proposals.
I even tagged my artist signature! Over all, I would DEFINATLEY go back. Totally friggen worth the two and a half hours.
